(Elk Beetle)
The story behind the Elk Beetle began about 250 years ago with the Duke of Zweibrücken. It was so that in those days, if a village wanted to celebrate a church festival, it had to have a church, but the village of Blaubach had not have a church when they appealed to the Duke to celebrate a church festival he agreed on the condition that the people of the village bring him an "Elkstag"... but there where none to be found. Someone had an idea and they went into the forrest. The next day they went before the Duke in his court and gave him a "Elkbeetle". The Duke found this so funny and was so delighted, that he allowed the people of Blaubach to celebrate their church festival.
